We stayed for two nights at Byland Abbey Inn, Yorkshire. The Inn is right in front of the Abbey ruins. Run by English Heritage the Inn has become a key stop for cyclists and walkers in need of a drink and bite to eat. Locally sourced food cooked in an innovative way by their young chef is a delight. We also liked the beer and wine selection. There are only 3 rooms available and they are quirky, but of a good size. The Abbey ruins cover a fairly extensive site with a small museum. Well worth wandering around. Friendly and helpful staff made the experience even better.
