I’ve been to Butterfly World several times over the years with my wife and grandchildren.
Make no mistake, it is a great place to see the tropical butterflies that race about the place and will often settle on you. However the butterfly house is very small and cramped when there are lots of people in it.
The extensive gardens are well worth wandering about in but the entire site has a very “unloved” look to it.The gardens have been planted as a wild flower area but the yards of orange builders fencing and gravelly paths don’t entice you to walk round.
Many of the exhibits, like the giant flower pots and tools are rather weather-beaten.
I know that times are bad and they probably don’t have the cash to properly maintain the place but it looks as if it is about to be closed down. It would be a great pity if it did.
