We arranged to meet my nephew and wife there with their two children, our last visit having been over twenty years ago with our own youngsters. Paid £3.20 to park for up to 6 hours – and we needn't have paid any more as there is an excellent playground (complete with swings for disabled children), also a paddling pool.
The train round the park cost just £1.50 each and there were tractor and pony rides that could be paid for extra too, all with such friendly people in charge. Plenty of picnic benches as well as a cafe.
The boating lake looked inviting – will have to return…
