Set into a bank along the unclassified road opposite Tynwald Hill, this is all that is left of a Bronze Age burial cist. It is easy to miss if it wasn’t for the sign next to it.
All that is left are the stone slabs round the central cist which might have contained a pot urn containing cremated remains as can be seen in a reconstruction of a similar cist in the Manx Museum. It would have been covered by an earth or stone mound.
If visiting Tynwald, it is worth crossing the road for a quick look. The nearest post code is IM4 3NA and the nearest grid reference is SC177 819. There is on road parking nearby.
