The Cotswolds is one of many Beauty Spots in the UK. Entering the village on the Broadway Road from Evesham driving under the refurbished Railway bridge. is a breath taking view of the golden stone old houses nestled in a green backdrop of Fish Hill.
We arrived mid morning on a sunny day to colourful awnings of stalls selling Italian goods, mainly food on the village green bordered by mature trees proudly showing their lush new leaves on the boughs. We wondered amongst the stalls, tempted by the well remembered specialties of a distant holiday in Italy. Treating ourselves to some cheeses and olive bread we walked through the village admiring the beautiful properties as we went. The road ended leading us on to a pathway to the summit of Fish Hill, where we sat and rested eating our Italian Treats picnic the views were magnificent, for, dotted here and there bright golden Rape fields glowed in the sunshine.
We were joined by other walkers picnicking and enjoying the views and were informed of the new Broadway Station being built, therefore, upon our return to the village which was now a riot of colour and music from the stalls. We drove to the railway which was most interesting to see . a new Footbridge had been erected, the station being built was duplicated from old postcards of the original. All done by dedicated volunteers many were working there; they were very welcoming in answering the many questions visitors were asking. sadly we had to return home but will return to this delightful village again, and see how the new Railway is getting along.
