Reasons for trip

The British Motor Museum is quite easy to find as it is very close to J12, M40.

We took our 8 year old grandson in half term. We all enjoyed the experience. If you have small children, they can go around in little cars which can be pushed by the parents. There is a huge exhibition of old cars from 1896 onwards. Most of them are for display only, but there are a few where children and adults can sit inside. One example is a 1930’s bus which you can sit inside and listen to the real life clippie, Mavis, tell stories about life on the buses.

They have various temporary exhibitions. February half term 2018 is Star Cars. “Meet Parker or Lady Penelope and discover some of the stories behind our collection of Star Cars on the daily family tour. Get creative with ‘Star Car’ crafts and complete the Star Car Trail.”

There is a Collections Centre, which houses cars from their reserve collection and Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. This includes 2 cars which belonged to our Queen Mother.

I would say it is well worth a visit, especially if you are able to pay for admission with Tesco club card points.
