Reasons for trip

Personal / family celebration

I stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night for a family celebration. I am going to get the negatives over with quickly because for the price we paid I feel mean complaining. The shower was quite impossible to use, it was scalding hot one minute and freezing cold the next. The hotel did say they would have moved us to another room had we been staying more than one night but we weren`t. To be fair some of the guests we were with had working showers in their rooms. The rooms were a decent size, clean and the beds were comfortable. They had tea making facilities and TV. The hotel is quite large set in a residential area with parking at the back and if you avoid the potholes the parking is fine. The hotel has a leisure facility which costs £4 a day extra to use. I didn`t use it but it appeared to be well equiped and had a small swimming pool. The bar and lounge were nice with plenty of seating and the staff were very friendly. We were given are own dining room for a party of 26 which was lovely as we were able to decorate this will balloons etc before main guests arrived. The evening meal was a carvery and a choice of starters served at the table. The food was nice and was plentiful. Each room for two people was given a free bottle of white or red wine on arrival. The hotel was busy and a large wedding reception was taking place in a function room. We got a group booking for 26 people at a cost of £50 per twin room. This included the evening carvery and the breakfast. I have got no complaints about that price. I have stayed in youth hostel dorms for not much less. It is a reasonable hotel if you are just staying a night and is not far from Manchester Airport.
