Both of us starting to tire of long car journeys, and tend to look for value overnight stopovers to break long journeys these days. Especially nice if such value stopovers include a pool / sauna / steam room, such as in this case! This is how we came across this handy hotel, which we used recently to break up what is usually a long and tiring day trip to family in the Guildford area. Welcome on arrival was friendly. Overnight was very good value at £39 for the budget double room! Amazing for the area, which is adjacent to M3 also quite handy for Heathrow. Free parking, restaurant on site for dinner (although having eaten a big Easter lunch, we just brought a snack along which we picked up at the Waitrose just before the southbound exit on M3 for the hotel. Bargain!) The best bit was taking a dip in the lovely pool in a conservatory style extension, lovely warm water, and we were the only people in the pool, sauna and steam room that evening. No extra charge. The opening hours were good too, for an Easter Bank Holiday Monday – pool open til 8pm. What is not to like, as they say? We will be back.
