It does not cost anything to go to the Bristol Balloon Fiesta unless you want to use the car park next to the location. Such good value for money.
I was disappointed that I did not see a mass lift off as the wind was too strong but it was still BRILLIANT. There were the usual fair ground rides and plenty of places to buy food and drink. There were also several stages with different music genres to keep you entertained. Luckily I had taken a seat with me as there was no where to sit.
The best bit for me was the Balloon Glow on the Thursday evening. I did not know what to expect but as it got dusk the balloons were laid out in the arena and inflated. The music started and the balloons flared in time to it. It is so hard to describe. What a spectacle. I was captivated by the sound and the atmosphere.
I was just thinking it had all finished when more music started. The fireworks display then started. An added bonus.
I then had a trudge back to the car-park. I was concerned that it would take forever to get out but it was so well organised.
I went back Friday morning bright an early 7:30 in case the wind had dropped enough but unfortunately there was no lift off. There was still a spectacle. The music was more relaxed and in keeping with that time of the morning. There was a different selection of balloons inflated so it was worth the effort.
They were hoping to do a mass lift off of over 100 balloons on Sunday but I did not have a room booked and had other plans so had to head for home.
Would I go again? Yes definitely.
