The Hotel Bristol was our first stop of a 10 days tour of Croatia,. As our coach parked up outside I thought how elegant the hotel looked with its lovely French windows and wrought iron balconies on most of the rooms. The terrace at the front looked very inviting with comfortable sofas and chairs for a drink before dinner or morning coffee, it did however overlook the road, but although this is normally something I would normally avoid, it wasn't a problem, it was an interesting place to people watch!
Inside, the bar area and reception looked modern and spotlessly clean. Our room was a lovely surprise, very spacious with two French windows with shutters and curtains, classic mahogany furniture and a smart bathroom. We were at the back of the hotel with a lovely view of the hillside with little alpine type houses with orange roofs, it was very pretty and extremely quiet.
We had a pre dinner drink in the evening sunshine on the lovely terrace, service was friendly and efficient.
Dinner at the hotel was included on the first night of our stay, buffet style and a little disappointing, probably because we were a group booking. Breakfast the next morning was excellent though.
The next day we were free to do our own thing. We made straight for the gate across the road from the hotel which lead into a lovely woodland park, and after walking for a few minutes, a beautiful coastal footpath. We loved this area, it was so pretty and totally unspoilt. Would love to return one day and would definitely stay again at the Bristol.
