My other half loves to discover street art to photograph as a sort of “social history” and that was our reason for visiting the Brick Lane area of London.
For those people who have read some of my reviews on the Silver Travel site, you may have noticed that I always like to put a positive spin on my experiences. I think however that Brick Lane is not an area that would appeal to Silver Travellers.
There are vintage markets, restaurants and some great street art, but the area generally seems impoverished. We did not feel threatened in any way and it was obvious that the different local communities were working together to help each other.
The more I look at the photos I took, I realise that the artists were reflecting the despair of their everyday life. This is not a criticism, just an observation.
