Reasons for trip

Regular holiday

We embarked on this cruise not knowing if we were going north or south once we left the port of Dover on Fred Olsen, Braemar. The guests were mainly in the 60 to 80 age range. The buzz on board was everyone guessing where we would be going the only clue was they were all ports never used by Fred before and also Unesco Sites.
For six nights we retired for the night not knowing where we would be the next morning! Our trip covered Norway, Germany, Denmark and Sweden.

In most ports they were as pleased to see us as us them, most had bands to greet us and also a wonderful farewell was given at most ports. At Hundersted in Denmark, we were given a Viking show and a band and the people of the town could not do enough to ensure our visit was enjoyable they had even organised tour guides around town to help those who needed information.

The weather was warm and sunny all the way. We would not normally go North in early May but the weather was much warmer and drier than South.

If you have cruised a lot I can recommend a mystery cruise, no clue was ever given and guessing where we would be the next morning was the topic of conversation at dinner. It was difficult to decide which tours to book but the general opinion was that they were good especially the one to Hans Christian Anderson’s house.
