Bowood sells itself as a luxury golfers hotel and spa. We are not golfers (though most other guests were) so we spent our time walking in the beautiful grounds, visiting Bowood House and the surrounding countryside, then enjoying the spa facilities.
The hotel room was quietly located and very comfortable, with a large bathroom. The dining experience was excellent; pre-dinner cocktails were imaginative and delicious, the dinner itself was a treat. We were lucky enough to enjoy a fireworks display after dinner one evening.
Breakfasts were plentiful and tasty, just what is needed before the golf or a long walk.
We found all the staff friendly and helpful throughout our stay.
