If you haven’t visited for a while, just back from stunning beach views is the Coates Museum, a fairytale house, filled with beautiful artefacts and pictures gathered from around the world. The couple who owned it generously left it to the local population so that they could enjoy its stunning rooms and antiquities. Take at least two hours to absorb its wonders. You will not be disappointed.
However if it is inspiring gardens that you want instead. Take a picnic or dine in the romantic restaurant attached to Cowper Acres’ entrance. From there take a magical path into a series of outdoor rooms each very individual and filled with amazing avenues of trees, carpets of flowers and water features. You finish with the best intimate realistic Japanese Gardens I have ever seen in this country. You will want to take photo after photo. It truly lifted my heart, quite captivating and at times truly restful. It felt like being in an Italian Mediterranean garden with authentic statues to boot.
