www.Bookatable.com – a great online system to book meals in advance for the city you are planning to visit, generally offering special deals. It provides instant booking with the date/time you choose, and an email confirmation to print-off or take with you on a phone/iPad.
We were in London for two nights so they sent us a range of offers over the month before our visit. For example, there was a great option of Afternoon Tea opposite Parliament with “free-flowing Prosecco”, or 3-course pre-theatre meals including wine or bubbly for around £25-£35 per person.
We loved our special at Gordon Ramsay’s Heddon Street restaurant (see Restaurant Review) and were therefore happy to buy the extra carafe of wine to complete our leisurely late lunch. We did not enjoy Le Garrick though – they had mixed up the booking (fortunately I had Bookatable’s email confirmation with me), the meal option for two courses was very limited, and what we did choose was definitely mediocre.
We will use this Bookatable site in the future, just telling them when and where we plan to visit in the UK to see if there are some deals available.
