I am not quite sure what we were expecting. Something like Waddesdon at Christmas or when the lights go on in the high street but Ican honestly say that this surpassed our expectations and then some. After we entered we thought it was “ok” – not realising it hadn’t even started. We followed a trail around the gardens – trees were lit up and sang, waterfalls were in beautiful colours. There were meadows of twinkling lights, lakes of fire, corridors of light and sound. At times we lost perspective – lights which seemed in the distance were quite near. There was a convenient break near the waterfall for hot chocolate, mulled wine or roasted chestnuts. Everywhere were helpful attendants to guide us.
It took us about an hour to walk around but it entirely depends on how long you want to spend there. Worth every penny. It was magical, exciting and inspired. Well done Blenheim!
