We had a lovely day out at Blenheim Castle. The historical interest alone makes the visit worthwhile, providing insight into British history from the Duke of Marlborough through to Winston Churchill. The animated holographic display on the first floor of the house brings the whole thing to life and is a helpful alternative to traditional displays as you can relax as you learn. Of particular value to children also I imagine. The grounds of the palace are spectacular and we had a lovely champagne picnic with birthday cake which we brought along ourselves as it was my husband’s sixtieth birthday. Plenty to do there and ideal for a relaxing and interesting day out. Buying the annual ticket is also good value and really worthwhile for a return trip.
