We stayed in Woodstock purely because Blenheim Palace is situated there. The palace itself is really interesting with exhibitions on its fascinating history. These include a fascinating history of the Marlborough dynasty and a comprehensive history of Winston Churchill, who was born there. The gardens are also well worth exploring and the estate covers a vast area, so a whole day needs to be put aside for a visit.
