This was an impromptu visit to the Big Shanghai Chinese Restaurant. Although, it isn’t in the centre of Albufeira it was close to the villa we were staying in and convenient. Our initial thoughts were that it was quite barn like but they had done their best to break up the area with plants etc. There were TV’s on the walls showing sport (no sound) and I have to be honest that we felt that a few of the staff were more interested in the sport than their customers. However, once our main course arrived we had another waiter who was very attentive. All this said the menu was good and the food was very good. It was typically Chinese and we had a very pleasant evening. The wine list was average but plentiful and the cost of the drinks and food was reasonable although I don’t remember the exact figure. We were having an early meal and there was only a handful of tables taken but by the time we left it was pretty full. Would recommend.
