Reasons for trip

Business

I was in Swift Current (affectionately known as Speedy Creek) recently on business and stayed at the Best Western. Our rooms were booked on line through Expedia.ca. Unlike many of the other establishments in town, the hotel is situated off the #1 Highway so it was very quiet – no road noise. My room was spacious with two double beds, a desk, a comfortable chair, a large flat-screen television, a small fridge, individually controlled air conditioning, an iron and board, coffee and tea making facilities and a hair dryer. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and provided a good night’s sleep. The bathroom was equipped with all the usual toiletries and even had makeup wipes. The hotel has an indoor pool and a gym. Free WiFi and parking were also available.

The lobby had apples and bottles of water for the taking. The staff on the front desk recommended a few possible restaurants for supper within walking distance. They were also very friendly and helpful during check in and check out.

A buffet breakfast in the morning was included and consisted of cereals and toast, juice, coffee, yogurt, bagels and muffins, self-serve waffle maker, fruit salad, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. It was very busy in the breakfast area so I loaded up a tray and headed back to my room for a relaxing breakfast in front of the television.

The amenities and service exceeded what I expected from a Best Western.
