Set in beautiful woodland and hills, this deceptively old hotel is a wonderful place for a restful break or an indulgence in the Spa. The staff, as seems ''de riguer'' with Best Western, treated us impeccably. The bar/lounge was a mixture of Old oak panelling, bright modern bar fittings and an array of wine with everything from very economical whites to classic fine reds. The food was excellent, nothing to scare an unseasoned traveller, but made and presented in a modern and appealing way, the Welsh Lamb is superb. The Hotel itself with the armour and tapestries is only surpassed by the generous rooms with huge bed and superbly appointed bathroom. We would like to return when the weather would allow us to use the stunning areas outside. Our only concern was that anyone with a mobility problem might find things a bit tricky, to be fair we did not query this while there as we did not wish to seem ungrateful after a lovely weekend.
