This property appeared to have just been taken over and was getting a coat of paint on the outside on arrival. On arrival we had a warm welcome at reception and were dealt with quickly and dispatched to our room. We were given a room in an annexe by the outdoor swimming pool (closed for the year). The room was small and poorly lit with central heating which was inadequate in October, let alone winter. It was uncomfortable to sit in as it was cold, we got an extra heater from reception to help. The bathroom was small by any standard with a shower which was inconsistant, the folding towel rail stuck in my thigh if there was a towel on it and there was little room to turn, even though I am slim. The food in the restaurant was lovely, the decor however was tired and needed replacing, the staff were attentive and on the ball. There is free WiFi inside the hotel. Well placed for this area of Cornwall including the Eden Project, I would visit the area again. The hotel, as said, appeared to be getting a much needed revamp, the staff and food were good, everything else was a bit disappointing. Best western are a good chain and I'm sure it will be bought up to scratch, I wouldn't return here until such time as it has been revamped and cleaned up.
