I recently visited Berlin with a friend. We found it one of the friendliest cities that we’ve visited. We travelled on public transport for our time there and found it easy to use and not expensive – though a little German helps. Not all train or underground stations had lifts that we could find, but we never once went up or down stairs without someone offering to carry our cases. This could be a problem for those with limited mobility. We stayed in an AirB&B a little out of the city centre, but with the transport we could be at any of the tourist spots within a short space of time. If you like museums, there are plenty to see and a lot are together on an island. You can get a travel pass which includes the museums, but unless you want to see a lot of them, it’s an expensive way to travel around. There are a lot of very nice restaurants and food is not overly expensive. The wine & beer are also very nice. On this visit we took a Cold War walking tour which I would very much recommend. This was my 3rd visit to Berlin & I will be back as there is still a lot to see.
