benidorm the bright!!

I had heard about Benidorm – who hasnt? I lived in southern spain for a long time but thought we would try somewhere different!
It certainly IS. Our hotel the DON PANCHO was a lovely luxurious hotel near the seafront and the long and famous Levante beach. We had single rooms and half board. The food was very good indeed and there was entertainment each night. There were a lot of noisy and brash bars near the hotel but the noise didnt bother us. A lot of hen and stag parties visit Benidorm and they want to drink and enjoy themselves which they certainly seemed to! Benidorm caters for them in a big way BUT there are quiet and nice places to go also. The old town is v attractive andhas lots of nice shops and eating places. Not expensive. Buses are frequent and taxis not expensive. Visit the church in old town and the attractive plaza and balcon de europa overlooking the magnificient beach… Go to a typical tapas bar. sit and watch people with a coffee. Prices are good. Be brave and visit a night club – we did! It was fun, lots of tribute acts – Elvis etc. We took the train to Alicante one day – one hour and 15 mins and interesting countryside.. Fare for two return was 12 euros!!!! Alicante has an attractive port area and nice restaurants. Dont choose a fiesta day like we did – everything was shut!!!!
Theweather in april was mixed but we came home with a tan ! All in all there is lots to do apart from drinking! April is a bit early to visit so maybe late May…. We travelled with Jet2 and i must recommend them – they were excellent.
