My wife and I are senior citizens and prefer a quiet holiday yet with plenty to do and see.
Benidorm is the sort of Spanish resort which has a little of something for everyone.
The new town suits the young party goer and has night clubs, disco’s and theme parks
close by.
However for the senior traveller the old town is superb. It has a very Spanish feel with bars, restaurants and boutiques for those that either like to go home with something new or just to window shop. The harbour down by dove park is beautiful and from there you can take the ferry over to the island.
The hotel Avenida is right in the centre of the old town and even so we have found it to be peaceful and quiet. Food there is excellent with something for everyone. They have a sauna, gym, jacuzzi and much more. Staff at the Avenida are very helpful and will see to your every need.
A visit to nearby Alicante, Albir or Altea market can be arranged at reception.
In all, if you are looking for a taste of Spain and don’t want to paint the town red the
Benidorm old town is the place to be.
