Although we have visited the Isle of Wight on many occasions and stayed at 6 of the 13 Warner hotels, we had never stayed at the Bembridge Coastal resort.
We were not disappointed! We only had a basic chalet room as the resort was fully booked but it was comfortable, clean & more than adequate for our 2 night stay.
We could not fault the standard, quality or choice of food and the service was really good too! The restaurant layout was excellent with varied levels & tables not on top of each other. There was plenty to do. We had a go at Indoor bowls (the outdoor bowls were fully booked at that time we wanted to play) & we also had a laugh playing the “pitch & putt”!! Sadly I did not get time to use the swimming pool, gym or beauty salon but we did have a go at the outdoor table tennis!! As the weather was glorious we did take advantage of the many sun loungers overlooking the beach for some “R&R”. We also walked along the beach to the local Lifeboat station. This was extremely interesting and we discovered that Tuesday evenings was the time to visit when you could watch a lifeboat launch in action!
One of the highlights at Bembridge is the Italian garden. It was at its best (see photos) & we wished we had more time to sit in this beautiful garden and watch the world go by. Definitely an excuse for a repeat visit!
The entertainment on our chosen weekend was an excellent comedian on Friday evening with a Johnny Cash tribute on the Saturday which was brilliant!Unfortunately we were unable to stay for the team entertainment on the Sunday evening. The entertainment lounge was brilliant, very spacious and every table had a great view of the stage. Even though the resort was full we did not have any trouble finding a seat despite arriving just before the entertainment programme was about to start. We really enjoyed the fun music quiz, achieving a very respectable score of 16 out of 20!!
All the staff we came into contact with at Bembridge were friendly & helpful, even when run off their feet. During the weekend we stayed there was a special offer whereby we were given free lunch vouchers so the snack bar was exceptionally busy!! Despite it being non stop, .the staff tried really hard & still had a smile for everyone! Bembridge is approx 20 minutes from the ferry at Fishbourne and the ferry journey to/from Portsmouth is 30 minutes. If you book via Warners you will get a fab deal (ours was £35 return which was a massive £100+ difference had we booked direct with Wightlink).
There were lots of special deals on for October & November including an Elvis tribute weekend.
We would not hesitate to return to this Warner venue.
