We love to view historic houses and so went to Beaulieu on a chilly October day with a view to see the house more than anything. What we were greeted by was a wonderful fun day out with many other attractions to view . We started with a ride on the monorail really to get an idea for the size of the park and what there was to see. The carriages for the monorail I would suggest could be a little tricky for those with mobility problems but once in they take you on a wonderful journey right through and around the museum. It was captivating to get an ariel view of the cars, the gardens, the house and the abbey. We took a circular trip and then disembarked to begin our experience. There is a lot of walking but all pretty flat and not really noticed as there is so much to see all the time. The cars are amazing and so well set out with a display of oldest to most advanced. They are in beautiful condition and as house would expect absolutely cherished. I don't really have an interest in old cars but found them fascinating. There were many added extras such as a mock up of an old garage and a display of the caravan club which really took me back to my youth when my parents took me on weekend caravan rally's. There were also displays of celebrity cars such as Mr Beans Reliant Robin and the car from Harry Potter which were great for photo opportunities. From the cars which probably took us a couple of hours to take in , we moved onto the abbey stopping for a huge ice cream on the way. The Abbey is a beautiful peaceful place . In the gardens of the abbey there was a display of birds of prey which was a wonderful informative experience. I especially loved the herb borders at the abbey which were used by the monks . A short distance from the Abbey is the house. Probably the smallest stately home we have visited but my favourite. Rather than just looking around antiques and trappings of wealth it tells a story. All the pictures have little captions underneath telling you who is who and why the picture is painted. All in all this is a fantastic day out with something for everyone. There is so much to do that you could argue that this could take more than a day and this is where I think the exhibit are really fair in that you can extend your ticket at the exit so that you can come back at any time within the filling week free of charge. You really can't say fairer than that!
