This is a brand new facility with luxury beach huts replacing the previous caravans, based in a small quiet cove near Ilfracombe. We stayed in a Wrinklewood hut which has a separate bedroom and is slightly larger than some others which have a studio bedroom. We did not opt for a hot tub but wished we had as these are in the front row directly overlooking the pebbly beach. The bathroom is cosy (of the dimension you might find in a ferry cabin) but the pay off is in the sitting area with a view to die for.
The huts are exceptionally well-equipped and furnished in washed white and pale colours which look lovely but may not wear particularly well over time. Surprisingly, there was a cooker and oven but no microwave – not a problem for us though. The small patio at the side of the hut was lovely but not especially private – the huts are quite close together and the slope means that some overlook is inevitable but not intrusive
The site was quiet and serene with wonderful views of the the sea rushing in at low tide. Nearby Ilfracombe is well worth a day's exploring as are Woolacombe's sandy beaches (ten miles away) if the weather is fair. A unique experience in a fascinating part of the world!
