Our family were elsewhere this Christmas – with the Outlaws – so faced with the prospect of doing a Darby and Joan at home – we booked an escape to Weymouth with Shearings. We drove down, acquired a parking permit and settled ourselves in for the duration. Lots of good food ( I do need to learn to say no or leave some on my plate!!) company mixed (quite a few zimmer frames in evidence) But overall we had a good time – weather was better than predicted so we were able to walk the sea front and take bus rides to surrounding areas. I would recommend to anyone who would like to escape the usual festive panic and be waited on hand and foot for a few days. Always someone to chat to, pull a cracker with and share a joke, but also time to chill out and read a good book between afternoon tea and supper!!
