My husband and I have just spent a weekend in Bristol where we stayed at the Doubletree Hotel. We didn’t stay in Bath which was where we really wanted to stay, it was too expensive, so we pick Bristol as it is not far from our visit to Bath. The hotel was ok, breakfast was a little different because of the restrictions but not too bad. Staff were very good sticking rigidly to restrictions. We travelled into Bath and had a great day taking the tour bus, one round the town and the second which is part of the price £14 out into the countryside. It was really enjoyable, had a pack lunch in the park and caught the bus back to the park and ride where we left our car. The only downside was the amount of people not sticking to social distancing and crowding around the baths as if there was no virus and queueing to go in to the attractions very close to one another. On the open-top bus we still had to wear our mask and on the park and ride every one had to wear their masks. We kept ours on most the time walking around Bath as we felt uncomfortable walking through the crowds, but apart from the crowds we have had a lovely trip. I feel you have to take care of your own space and try to avoid as much contact with other people as you can.
