Looking for somewhere special for our last evening, this was recommended to us by a tour guide. They were very accommodating with us being later than expected and they did keep a table for us – it is in the old part of the town but difficult to find unless you know the area.
As with the other restaurants in Nice, it was worth the search. Lots of choice, especially the fish of the day (sea bass) and an exceptional calamari dish cooked how it should be so not chewy or rubbery as it sometimes can be when served in UK. Pork was delicious in a very tasty sauce, but we didn’t actually sample the desserts as we were all too full! Dom des Corbilli wine suited us all and was reasonable at €26 a bottle.
This is a very popular restaurant with locals and tourists alike, so you definitely need to book ahead. A friendly atmosphere, including local diners who chatted with us (including a man who serenaded us although we weren’t quite sure why), and comfortable surroundings in this small, typically French restaurant. It was a perfect way to end our short break in Nice ensuring we would seek it out again if we visit again.
