We booked a Wednesday night stay on my husband’s birthday. Check in was 3pm, but we arrived around midday as we wanted to spend as much time as possible over the 2 days. From the moment we arrived we were treated to excellent customer service. Each staff member was warm and friendly, and prepared to go the extra mile. We had a deal which included dinner in the evening and a glass of prosecco. We ordered coffee on arrival, and the barman brought it over to our sofa by the log fire. He asked about our stay, and when I mentioned it was my husband’s birthday, he gave us another complimentary prosecco each. He then arranged for our room keys straight away, and we were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the New Forest. True, it was not very busy, being midweek in January, but they did not have to do this. The beds were comfortable and the rooms clean. The view was lovely too.
I am vegetarian, and the chef sat with me and asked what I would like to have for dinner, and suggested a meal, which was delicious.
The location of the hotel is lovely – just walk through a gate at the end of the car park, and you are straight onto heathland and woods, and walking amongst the ponies!
I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
