I recently treated myself to a retirement trip to Bally's-Atlantic City. I have been going to Bally's for over 30 years. Always had a great time. Always would win, put back, win, put back, and win again, and put back, which I did not mind. When we arrived we had to wait 45 minutes to check in, there were over 100 people in line. After freshening up in the room, we went to dinner, only to find that my two favorite restaurants are gone ! Animations has been replaced by a place called 6XBistro, and Pickles was closed and we were told probably would not reopen. We waited 40 minutes for some to take our order at 6XBistro and another 30 minutes for the grilled cheese sandwiches to arrive. The place was not busy, so why the delays. When we started gambling on my favorite slot machines, the $1.00 Blazing 7's, I found that no matter how much money I put in, I could not win. The machines were extremely tight and not paying out at all. Whenever I've been to Bally's before, I always won, time and again, over and over again, usually putting it back by the time I went home but still I would win enough to keep me going. Not this time, I did not win any jackpots the whole time I was there. Extremely odd. On previous trips I have always been comped for dinners or my room, many times over. Not this time, NO ONE came over to me except once for a dinner comp, and I had to ask for a comp for a 10 minutes ride to the airport the morning we were leaving. This trip has been very disappointing, and I cannot recommend Bally's Hotel & Casino-Atlantic City to anyone!
