Bag End is a cottage sleeping 2 people in the charming village of Hognaston, Derbyshire.
The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and cosy. On arrival, we found a lovely cottage, although smaller than it looked from the photos on the cottage booking website.
There is parking in front of the cottage and an upstairs outdoor seating balcony, accessed via a door from the bedroom. The village pub is next door, which serves meals.

Bag End is ideal for visiting Carsington Water, which is a fairly short walk via footpaths. The OS map we had did not show the direct footpath to Carsington Water, so it may be best to ask a local!

Whilst staying there we visited Dovedale, which is beautiful and very popular with walkers. There are also several National Trust properties within about half an hour’s drive.
