So popular, that a weekday visit is preferable. You'll need a car not only to get to Aylett Nurseries easily, but mainly to carry away all the wonderful things that you will wish to purchase. Even the large car park fills easily at weekends.
Still a family business since 1955, the service and selection is tops. Every display is well maintained, helpful and expert staff are easily available. Wide covered walkways lead to all sections of the garden centre, with displays and features that rival a National trust property.
The Dahlia Coffee House is well staffed, has a varied menu at sensible prices, but many tables were left uncleared when I visited.. Service can be slow at busy times. The toilets here are modern and clean.
The gift shop is small and boring with expensive items. All other departments are beyond criticism with provide everything you could ever need for gardening and house plants.
It is difficult to get that excited about a garden centre but this one is certainly excellent, and worth a visit. Open seven days.
