Reasons for trip

This is not a review as such. It is simply to advise that the Castle is currently going through a big restoration programme that potential visitors should be aware of. Free guided tours are available at weekends if any one is interested in seeing the important work that is being carried out. Visit the “website”:https://www.aucklandproject.org/. The Tea rooms are currently closed until the works are completed in May 2018. There are no toilet facilities during the 90 minute tour.
