When our overnight plans changed at the last minute, we found ourselves scanning a list on a poster outside the closed Information offices in Kimberley. My sister started phoning from the top of the list. Eventually she said “We are staying At Judy’s”.
We followed the green signs which took us to the pretty suburban location approximately 2 miles from the Information bureau. The house has been specifically designed with the visitor in mind. The beds and furniture are both comfortable and of high quality; en suite plus kitchenette completes each room. Decor includes some very original artwork both in the bedrooms and in the dining room.
The breakfast was quality; evening meals (with sufficient notice) can also be provided. One room was appointed for disabled – a welcome surprise as we had my 92 year old father with us. Judy lives opposite and is always at hand with a friendly smile or for some needed advice. An attractively planted garden surrounds the rooms. The walkways are roofed in case the thunderstorms or hot sun are there to greet you. The small pool provides an inviting cool-off.
At Judy’s offers so much more than the small entry on the poster indicates! A gem of a B&B providing a wonderful stopover at this diamond city.
