We stayed at this hotel on a “Chatsworth Break”. This was excellent and I have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and this particular package.

The hotel is modern and fairly close to junction 33 on the M1. There is plenty of parking and the rooms are clean and pleasant with comfortable beds and the equipment to make your own tea/coffee and biscuits. We were greeted with a smile as we arrived and swiftly given the key to our room. This was on the third (top) floor had a shower rather than a bath. The bedroom also had an easy chair and small table as well as a desk with another chair. Wifi was free throughout the hotel.

When we arrived we were given two tickets for Chatsworth House & Gardens plus detailed instructions for getting there – it took about 45 mins. We used these the next day and it was an excellent day out.

The lounge/bar was very comfortable with plenty of armchairs and tables – though the view was of the entrance and the car park but they had no choice given their location which was very convenient rather than scenic. We had coffee and drinks here at different times but they also have snacks and light meals available.

Our package included breakfast both days and a three course meal with a bottle of wine on the first night. There was a wide selection of food (my steak and ale pie was delicious) and a good choice of wines. It was all so good that we immediately booked dinner for the next day. Again the food was excellent – my husband loved the stroganoff and we used the 20% off wine voucher that was also part of the package. The breakfasts were also very good – a hot and cold buffet with the option for items such as kippers to be cooked as well.

Without exception all the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they really seemed pleased to see us.

We paid about £160 for the package for both of us – the two nights with bed and breakfast, one evening meal with wine and the Chatsworth House tickets. I feel this was really good value considering the very high standard of food and service.
