Reasons for trip

I went to the Teacup with my daughter while on a visit to Manchester recently. It is situated on Thomas Street in the Northern Quarter. Originally we were only going for coffee and cake, but we decided to have lunch there. We both had Roast Potato soup, something neither of us had heard of before. It looked and tasted very similar to roast parsnip soup and it was served with rye bread. It was delicious. After that it was on to the real reason for our visit, cake! On the website we had both been impressed by the Rainbow cake and we were not disappointed. We were each brought a huge slice of this multicoloured Brandenburg cake. It looked just like the picture on the website and tasted lovely. We also both had coffee. The Teacup is quite a large restaurant and serves a variety of savoury and sweet food. They also have quite a long list of teas, but these are quite expensive compared to other drinks on the menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again I'm sure.
