We stayed at “Arkin Palm Beach”:http://www.anatoliansky.co.uk/north-cyprus-holidays/famagusta/arkin-palm-beach/ Hotel during our Twin Centre trip arranged through “Anatolian Sky”:http://www.anatoliansky.co.uk/twincentre-holidays/north-cyprus-twin-centre-holidays/famagusta-and-kyrenia/ . The hotel is situated about 30 mins walk or a short taxi ride from Famagusta town centre and set on a lovely private golden sandy beach. Although a large and spacious hotel, it had a distinctly boutique feel to it and looked pristine after its recent refurbishment. We stayed in a king sized sea view room which was spacious and comfortable and equipped with TV, safe, air con, mini bar, hairdryer, WiFi and bathrobes. Through patio doors was the large tiled balcony featuring a table and two chairs plus a almost double sized day bed. The bathroom, like the rest of the hotel had a modern feel, stocked with good quality products and a spacious shower (no bath).
The beach was clean and well tended and sported masses of loungers and umbrellas, plus there were wooden boardwalks that ran from the steps/ramp that led from the hotel to the beach. This made it easily accessible for pushchairs and wheelchair users. Indeed the whole hotel is equipped with ramps or lifts making it easily navigable for anyone with mobility issues (there were, however, no specially equipped rooms). Complimentary towels are made available for the beach and pool area.
There was both an outdoor and indoor pool for us to enjoy and a Spa and Wellness Centre, featuring gym, sauna, steam and treatment rooms. A rent a bike service is available if you’d like to explore Famagusta by bicycle.
We stayed on a Half Board basis and really enjoyed the buffet style meals on offer. A huge selection of food was available at breakfast and dinner, almost to the point of being spoilt for choice. My personal favourite was sea bream wrapped in paper with onions, cooked to perfection. We ate in the Cascata Restaurant which offers inside and al fresco dining and a large selection of wines.
We enjoyed the lobby bar for a relaxing drink or coffee, both outside on the terrace and inside at the bar or on comfy chairs.
Should you fancy a flutter there is the casino right here on site.
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking to base yourself in Famagusta.
Note: Wheelchair users should check that the lifts, bedroom doors or other access points can accommodate the width of their particular wheelchair.
