Ideal location as just a short walk from King’s Cross and St Pancras stations. There are quite a few smaller hotels in this area so it is very convenient, although we wouldn’t stray too far down nearby streets as it is a bit run-down and didn’t feel particularly safe.
The double room is very bijou with a just-about double sized bed and a smaller toilet/shower room than even the Ibis Budget hotels. But, tea and coffee making, biscuits, two bottles of water, very clean towels and bed linen means it was acceptable. This hotel is not suitable if you cannot climb stairs (no lift) and no breakfast facilities are available which made it quite expensive at £199.80 room only for two nights. However, we realized afterwards that it was the first week of Wimbledon and all the hotels are more expensive then. We probably would not choose to stay there again.
If you are visiting London soon, make sure you pick up the “Free Tourist Map – London for Less” available in all the hotels (even if you have a map already) as you genuinely get 20% off the total bill at all attractions and restaurants featured, each time you visit apparently, so it is a real bargain. We had £10 of our £50 bill at Bella Italia in Leicester Square on one evening so make sure you take the map with you as they scan the front cover code.
