One of the perks of a day out is a cake in the coffee shop. That in the “Visitor Centre”:http://wasleys.org.uk/eleanor/presocialhistory/socialhistory/transport/other/anderton/index.html comes highly recommended. It is a pleasant place with outside seating for a fine day. It serves a range of snacks and hot meals at very reasonable prices. For early birds it serves breakfast from 9.30. Unfortunately we weren’t there in time for that.
There is a good selection of sandwiches as ell as paninis and jacket potatoes for those wanting something a bit more substantial at lunchtime.
The homemade cake selection was definitely different with watermelon and courgette and avocado (very good!) and at £2.40 are very reasonably priced. Tea was served in a big tea pot with an equally large cup.
They also offer a take away menu for those who want to explore the neighbouring “woodlands.”:https://foam.merseyforest.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/Northwich-Woodlands-Map.pdf
This is definitely recommended.
