Had a few days in Amsterdam last month. So easy to travel from Exeter airport, train into city centre and 10 mins walk at our hotel. We stayed in Hotel V Nesplein, very central but quiet, right in the city centre. Hotel was excellent, very modern decor and a spacious bedroom. Food was superb and all the staff, not just waiters and waitresses were helpful and friendly.
Keukenhof gardens was well worth the money, fantastic displays of flowers, woodland gardens and plenty of cafes to sit and take time out.
Had to visit Rijksmuseum as it was closed last time we were there! Found lots of interesting small museums to visit. In fact, ran out of time to see all we wanted.
Had already booked restaurants prior to visit, all were very good. One outstanding place to eat and is worth pushing the boat out for is Greetje’s – simply sublime.
Found a micro brewery near the hotel, so a cool glass of beer, in the sunshine, went down well after a day’s sightseeing.
Definitely a place to recommend.
