Amble is a lovely small town with a very pretty harbour which has been developed into a little shopping area with 15 pods selling all manor of artisan goods with a wide range of lovely things to buy including cards and gifts, sweets, cheese, jewellery, cakes and everything for the pampered pooch.

In the same area is “The Northumberland Seafood Centre”:https://northumberlandseafood.co.uk/. They have a good range of fish and seafood for sale and will make up crab or lobster platters if you order in advance. The fish available depends on the catch that day and is really fresh. We had ordered a lobster platter as a celebration meal for my birthday and we certainly were not disappointed. The lobster was sweet and succulent and the prawns were fantastic. Alongside this were mussels and cockles all on a bed of lettuce. Incidentally, they have there own lobster hatchery that you can visit and you can even sponsor a baby lobster.
We certainly will be going back if we are in the area.
