AMA Waterways attract a worldwide cliental, mostly from the US, but Canada, Phillipines, Brazil and others. The one outstanding feature is the level of service, the staff do try to go that extra mile, if you ask for it they will try to provide it. The tours are varied and if it is a city tour they have a ‘slow’ group so older people who are not able to walk fast, or uphill, are catered for. If you try this cruise, it also operates in reverse, make sure that you go on the ‘artist experience’ tour from Arles to see the carriere lumiere and the alyslem where Van Gogh was for a year. In Lyon try the Les Halle visit for tastings. The on board entertainment was not just a keyboard player, other musicans and dancers came on board after dinner on some nights.
