I booked two tickets to see Peter Pan on Ice – starring The Russian Ice Stars at St Albans Arena on Saturday evening. My daughter had just finished some intensive treatment and she wanted a lively fun show not to far from home. This show did not disappoint it was dramatic, fast and fun. From the moment Wendy and her brothers look enchanted by the romantic dancing of their parents, to Peters shadow speed skating around the stage we were engrossed. The surreal dance of the mermaids left us desperate to take photos, then we gasped as the Indian fire dance had skaters spinning on the shoulders of expert male anchours. The pirates swung like flags from ropes above the Jolly Rodger and Tick Tock the Croc was fun. The speed of the dancers is astonishing and the ladies have the grace of ballerinas and an agility that is staggering. Peter Pan is lively and Tinkerbell is a delight to watch. If this show comes near you do go and see it you won`t be sorry. St Albans Arena is well placed in the town centre and has a large carpark immediately behind the theatre. This is free from 6.30 pm so is idea for evening performances.
