We stayed at the Agnadema apartments in Santorini in July 2014. The apartments are in Firostefani and are about 5-10mins walk from Fira which is the main town. The apartments are quite basic, but have everything you need for a relaxing base for a holiday. The apartments are located in the side of a cliff in Firostefani. The only downfall is the huge amount of steps that you need to climb up and down to get to the apartments. When you arrive with your luggage they have a very strong porter, who manages to carry several cases on his shoulder and back up and down the steps, so you only need to get yourself up and down which is ok. (This place is not suitable for less mobile people) The steps are a pain but, if you can put up with it the apartments are in a stunning position and the views are incredible. We stayed in a luxury apartment with its own private balcony with sun loungers it also had a smaller balcony and its own private patio right next to the pool. It had a huge luxury bathroom with a wonderful shower in the main bathroom which also had a massive jaccuzi bath in the centre and was like a cave. (Absolutely lovely) The apartment also had a separate shower which had a sea view through a small window. The pool was very small and there were only a few sunbeds near the pool but whilst we were there there were always enough beds and the pool was never busy. The apartments provide breakfast in a small reception area but most people take a tray back to their balconies to eat which was a nice touch. The sunsets in the evening are to die for and the staff brings round a liqueur drink and santorini gelatine sweets to enjoy whist watching the sunset. The sunsets are a big thing in Santorini and everything stops. Firostefani is a small village with a few shops bars and restaurants. The walk along the cliff top into Fira is an absolute must and takes about 5-10 mins maximum. The views are some of the most stunningly spectacular i have aver seen in the world and that its the truth. There are cruise ships in and out of the port all the time and to watch them from small bars along the cliff is wonderful. Fira is great for eating out and shopping and is a stunningly pretty vibrant town. Santorini is a must for everyone. If you have walking difficulties please try to go still but book a hotel on top of the Caldera.
