My son recommended this to me as he had stayed here for his friend’s wedding reception in 2014.
He had stayed in a trulli house (the unique conical roofed houses such as are found in Alberebello). He raved about the quality of the food and service, the idyllic setting in the countryside, and the cool welcoming houses, which surrounded a swimming pool in such a peaceful setting. I went there to lunch to see for myself, and totally agreed with him.
The coastal villages in Puglia are very pretty but get extremely crowded in summer, especially in high season, and although Nochi was only 30 minutes drive away, it was another world.
I am booking for next year to stay there, if you want to try it, the website is www.abatemasseria.it and the 2 nearest airports are Bari or Brindisi. (Masseria means farmhouse).
You would definitely need a car as taxis seem unavailable and public transport practically non existent so far out in the countryside. But all other mod.cons. and luxuries are on site.
