Hello Silvertravelers, hope you are all fit and well.
We were supposed to be reviewing our first cruise to celebrate our Golden Wedding; oh dear cancelled, twice. Now keeping fingers crossed for the end of September.
Had to do something to mark the anniversary and luckily one of our favourite restaurants reopened for the right weekend.
A refurbish and much work on recipes marked the reopening. Table spacing, masks when not eating, minimum staffing and restricted menu are still apparent as the hospitality industry feels its way out of lockdown. None of these diminished the experience, rather they confirmed the levels of care and safety offered. Though not susceptible to flattery, being welcomed back by name and offered drinks from the new wine list based on your preferences from the previous. Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir were delicious. The food was, as always, exceptional and sufficiently different to turn a meal out into culinary adventure and celebration. The service and ambience were at pre-covid levels. I won’t bore you with a repeat of things I have said in previous reviews but I have included photos that I hope work (not good at IT)
There are lots of good restaurants but not so many that are consistently good over time.
