This holiday was a real ‘find’. In truth it was a last minute bargain which made it even better value for money. The hotel was only taken over by Inghams a couple of weeks before we went. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly amazed at the 5 course dinners; we had not expected them to be of such high quality but we were told that Inghams were working hard to raise the standards of their Chalet hotels. Every evening before dinner, we were offered a different complimentary aperitif and canapes in the bar – a lovely touch, also wine with dinner was included as well as a packed lunch (including lovely fresh filled baguettes).

The hotel is a few minutes walk from the centre of Chamonix where you can find buses and trains which are free to use with your ‘guest card’. Mont Blanc is the big attraction and we went up it on the cable cars, round it and through it on an excursion.

There are so many walks, it was difficult to know which to choose. You can do low level, middle level or high level. Although we went in late September the weather was really good. We did need warm clothes first thing in the morning but by the afternoons the layers had been discarded.

Absolutely delightful place. I love Chamonix. I have been back twice and still find plenty to do. Very scenic.
